Skyrunners, designated ADF-13s, are a Military starfighter drone interceptor used in the Starwatch division.
Description[]
Skyrunners are rather flat drone starfighters shaped like darts, with a slightly bulky underside. They have one main engine, and tail flaps that can change direction for different situations. They have a central cannon located in their center, shot down their midsection. Skyrunners have no cockpits or crew compartments, and are able to stack on each other for easier storage, sometimes even functioning as segmented armor plates for ships, which can then be used to deploy them.
Capabilities[]
Skyrunners are interceptors with a high atmospheric speed, faster than the likes of Starbirds. Skyrunners often fly in large numbers, and are equipped with advanced AI systems that allow them to formulate and modify strategies as the situation unfolds, working with other Skyrunners and piloted ships alike. They are armed with a central rapid fire cannon, which dominates most of the spine of the Skyrunners. Like the other Military starfighters, they are equipped with point-defense systems, namely projectile shields that can also provide some extra defense against other types of attacks. Their armor is durable, but they have the least armor and durability of all Military craft, although they are the most numerous, and are often built on the site of battles by dreadnoughts that are equipped with manufacturing units. They are not equipped with Light Drives, thus relying on other ships to go into hyperspace.
Background[]
Skyrunners were developed following the Trans-Galactic War as a basic interceptor that could be used for hit-and-run attacks and protecting large cruisers. They were mass produced following the entrance of the Government into the Great Titanian Civil War. Skyrunners are the most prominent Military asset regularly sold to allies.
